IT'S A DOGS LIFE!
at    PINE STATE POODLES
Poodles have to be one of the most intelligent dogs ever.  They are
SO intelligent they learn quickly how to train the people that love
them.   I am now well trained myself.
NURSERY
This is where life
begins for the new
babies.  They will
never arrive without
some one sitting
beside the cribs just in
case we are needed.
There is always soft
lighting and light
classical music to
soothe the newborns
and the Moms
Before the babies are 4 days old they have their first
visit with the Veterinarian.  Their tails will be docked
and dew claws removed plus they are always
checked throughly.
In the nursery the babies are held, spoken to and
further stimulated daily.
At about 3 weeks the pups will be moved in to ground
level play areas so they are free to start exploring
their area and tasting new food.  The dry kibble helps
the baby teeth to break through.  They also have a
variety of infant teething toys to play with.
This is also when the paper training begins.  If the area is kept
clean and order free the pups will naturally go to the pads to
eliminate.  Of course when moving to a new home with different
smells and rules there will be accidents
By the age of 5 weeks the
puppies are running,
playing and more than
ready to start new
adventures!  They enjoy
playing with infant pull toys.
 They will push the buttons
on educational toys that
play music or recite the
ABC.  I haven't any hopes
of them actually learning
the alphabet but they really
enjoy the toys
Now is when the extra socialization begins.  Most of the day the
puppies will be free to roam through out the Dog House so they will
meet and play with the adult dogs     I  also encourage young visitors.
The babies just love having children to play with!
Of course there are
times the adults are not
the best role models!
We encourage visitors-
especially adoptive parents.
It is wonderful if they live
close enough so they can
visit and bond with their new
pup before it is actually time
to move.  I do realize some
new parents live too far
away so I update the photos
weekly so they will not miss
the important changes
occurring
At 6-7 weeks the puppies will have their second checkup and begin
their baby vaccinations.  Also about this age they will have their
faces trimmed .  Suddenly they look like elegant ,stunningly
beautiful Poodles! By now they are usually eating completely on
their own and have developed their own personalities.  My babies
are all incredibly intelligent ,have started on housebreaking by being
accustom to using pee pads on pee housebroke and ready to give
pure love!
The puppies usually leave at 8 weeks old.  They only go to the most
wonderful homes.
I receive many photos of the pups after they leave me.  I really
appreciate the effort and time the new parents make to keep me up
to date on the puppies as they grow
